A new Thomsit object consultant
With the object advisor, THOMSIT wanted to offer customers a consultation tool for the installation of floor coverings. Customers should receive instructions with all necessary work steps, in order to install a new floor according to their requirements. The goal was thus: A very customer-oriented tool!
THOMSIT already had an object advisor online when they came to us. The goal was to further develop it so that it could be maintained by several employees, even without specific expertise, quickly and easily.
The aim was to simplify the planning for customers and to give them more confidence in their selection. For example, the offer configurator should enable purchasers with little expertise to obtain a flawless offer in a few clicks. Due to the large number of verifiable standards offered to the customer in the configurator, data preparation was the biggest challenge. In joint coordination and preparation in Excel logic, the data and logic were ultimately stored in an easily maintainable format.
Object Advisor 2.0
Since the product data was already available in digital form, a first prototype of the new object consultant could be quickly configured after an initial joint workshop with THOMSIT. An individual post-processor code was created by our programmers for quantity and container calculation in close collaboration with THOMSIT. With the help of this programming, the quantity and container requirements are now automatically and flexibly calculated based on the entered area and spackle layer thickness. Once new product data is uploaded, it is automatically taken into account in the recommendation calculation. The entire database did not need to be recreated.
After the launch of the selector on the THOMSIT website, an app specifically for the object consultant was developed in the next step in collaboration with an external agency. All changes or updates can still be made via the backend of the software and are automatically adopted in the app as well as in the object consultant integrated on the website.
Available quickly and easily on every construction site
With the new digital object consultant, THOMSIT customers can now quickly and easily create individual construction recommendations at any time and have the result sent to them directly as a PDF file. All relevant information such as processing steps, required products, consumption quantities, and technical data sheets are available as PDF files in the construction recommendation. For users who use the tool on the THOMSIT website, the user interface has been modernized and optimized, making operation even easier and more intuitive.
For technical questions, users can now quickly contact the THOMSIT technicians via the app and receive a response within one working day as a push notification directly in the THOMSIT Object Consultant app. Applicators and specialist sales staff benefit from the easy exchange with the THOMSIT technicians. With the new, revised object consultant and the corresponding app, THOMSIT is expanding its digital offering in a future-oriented manner.
